Anyone who has a healthy living blog can be a member of Healthy Living Blogs. What’s a healthy living blog? Any blog that has any discussion about any aspect relating to health and wellness. The beauty of the healthy living blog community is that it is diverse and there’s something for everyone. So whether you have a fitness blog, weight loss blog, “here’s-what-I-ate” blog, vegan blog, yoga blog, spiritual health blog, wellness blog, or any kind of health blog, you are welcome here. 🙂
The first step to being included in the blog listings, is simply sending an email with the following information to firstname.lastname@example.org:
- Email subject line: MEMBERS
- Your name (please share your name how you want it to appear on the Internet – i.e. if you don’t want your last name on the Internet, don’t put it here)
- Your blog name and URL (Example: Healthy Living Blogs, http://healthylivingblogs.com )
- Your twitter username, if you have it
- Your instagram username, if you have it
- Your location (if you prefer not to disclose this information for privacy’s sake, that is completely understandable. We’ll simply include your blog listing in the a-z listing, not by location, too)
- Any specific labels (i.e. vegan, gluten-free, weight loss, running, etc.)
- Blogger who referred you (if applicable)
Once we receive your email request for membership, we will send you a PayPal invoice for ten dollars. This ten dollars goes towards all aspects of site maintenance, including the web hosting, domain costs, costs to make HLB an LLC, and of course the huge amount of time it takes to run HLB. (Please see this post for more details.)
Once we receive your payment, we’ll process your request to be on HLB and you should see your site listed within a week.
There are several different benefits to being a member of HLB!
We have a lot of awesome posts going up, several days of the week offering another theme or subject. HLB Members are often given a sort of free advertising for their own blog by our posting links to their own sites and doing a sort of “guest posts” for the different series we publish each week. Take a look at our site to see how Members can submit blurbs for our weekly Community Announcements posts, promote themselves by linking up in our Recipe Wednesday series, and take a turn in the spotlight by being one of the bloggers in our Feature Friday series. We also feature Members’ content that we find valuable to our community on our Twitter feed, Pinterest boards, and Facebook page, too.
There are some opportunities that are only available for HLB members. One example of this would be this awesome giveaway: http://
And of course, being listed on the blog as a member is beneficial, too! Other bloggers in your area can connect with you for blogger meet ups, readers searching for advice from people who write about specific subjects, or companies seeking out bloggers for new opportunities can all use the HLB a to z page, location pages, twitter group and master member list to find you!
Honestly, this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the benefits of HLB Membership. We strongly believe in the power of the Healthy Living Blogs community and are always looking for fresh, exciting ways to promote and nurture the relationships in our genre. We love to connect as a group in a variety of ways over social media, our blogs, the #HLBtea swap and virtual #HLBbookclub and in person at IRL events, too.
We hope that you are interested and look forward to having you become a member of Healthy Living Blogs! Please don’t hesitate to ask if you have any other questions.
