When it comes to Recipe Wednesdays here at HLB, some weeks our themes read like cookbook chapters, spotlight ingredients or flavors, or simply request the best recipe for a certain situation.

Find an appropriate recipe from your blog archives to fit the theme and add to the collection. Or be inspired to create a new theme-friendly dish worth posting about before next Wednesday.
Each week we feature 20 fantastic recipes from our HLB Members [learn how to become a Member here: HLB Membership How-To] giving even more exposure to some of the best content you’ve shared from your own kitchen. Let’s get to it, shall we?

Vegan No Bake Star Anise Starberry Cashew Cake from Savory Spin //Topped with a crown of strawberries, blueberries, apricots, cherries, and nondairy whipped topping, this creamy, dreamy, cheesecake-like Vegan No Bake Star Anise Strawberry Cake makes a delicious, cool treat that both vegan and non-vegan family and friends are sure to enjoy.

Gluten Free Fruit Pizza from Bucket List Tummy // Gluten Free Fruit Pizza is perfect as a snack or dessert. The gluten-free crust is made from oats and high protein almond flour and topped with fresh fruit and a peanut butter chocolate glaze.

Watermelon Cake for Birthday Fun from Nutmeg Notebook // Since we were transporting this cake to the park we secured the layers together with tooth picks. Then the fun began as I started to decorate it with berries – one of Alma’s favorites foods. I thought it would be fun to personalize it with her name. Hubby Tom used the watermelon rind and carved out the letters. He did the “A” first and he made it thick so that he could just slice it in half and then he only had to make one “A” and they were perfectly the same. Yep – he’s clever like that. We secured them to the watermelon layer with toothpicks. The berries on the top of the layers are also secured with tooth picks. The kiwi slices stayed in place without any additional help.

Hummingbird Cake from The Marvelous Misadventures of a Foodie //
This sweet and fruity cake is full of banana and pineapple to create a perfectly moist cake – then is topped with cream cheese frosting. The perfect cake for any Spring gathering!

Pistachio Apricot Cake with Mascarpone Filling and Whipped Cream Frosting from Eat Run Read // It is fitting that I celebrate this great occasion with a cake of the epic variety. I made this Pistachio Apricot Cake with Mascarpone Filling and Whipped Cream Frosting for our housewarming party this weekend and not to toot my own horn, but toot! it was pretty freaking delicious.

Pistachio Pudding Cake from Andie Mitchell // This pretty green pistachio pudding cake is unfailingly soft and tender, studded with chopped pistachios, and glazed with a sweet and shiny white icing. It’s the perfect St. Patrick’s Day dessert and an embarrassingly easy cake recipe to bake, made all in one bowl with box yellow cake mix and a package of instant pistachio pudding.

Dark Chocolate Dragon Fruit Cake from How Sweet Eats // The prettiest dark chocolate dragonfruit cake! This is a rich dark chocolate bundt cake drizzled with vibrant dragonfruit glaze.

Our Favorite Carrot Cake from Dash of Evans // Every recipe binder needs a great go-to carrot cake recipe. You can make this tiered or in a 9×13 pan and it ALWAYS turns out.

The Gluten-Free Chocolate Cake that Doesn’t Taste Gluten-Free from Genelle’s Healthy Life // So, I would be lying if I said I got it right on the first try. But that’s completely the norm for recipe testing. I had to make sure I was delivering my promise of a delicious, moist cake. I am now very confident in telling you…this is it. The cake itself and the frosting are just… SO. DANG. GOOD.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cake from The Fit Housewife // Cookie dough lovers (like my husband and kids), will love this moist, fudge-like cake.  And dessert fanatics (like myself), will love that this cake won’t go from your lips to your hips!

Vegan Gluten-Free German Chocolate Cake [Fruit-Sweetened + Oil-Free] from Healthy Helper // The ultimate healthy chocolate cake that tastes like a traditional German Chocolate Cake. Vegan, gluten-free, and full of sweetness from medjool dates, this dessert will be a hit with the whole family whether they’re vegan or not. It’s also oil-free and filled with nutty goodness!

Red Wine Chocolate Cake with Cabernet Frosting from Champagne Nutrition // Made in a spring-form pan, it’s easy to cool and remove without sticking at all. While many recipes for red wine chocolate cake call for ganache, made from baking chocolate, I really didn’t want to boil out the alcohol so I opted for a simple powdered sugar, a bit of butter and again: red wine. Without cocoa in the frosting, it would be a purple color so I wanted to do a chocolate on chocolate but just with the hint of red wine flavor. Adding in chopped nuts offers not only a beautiful garnish but also some additional nutrition and texture. People proclaimed “you can taste the wine” when enjoying this cake – it certainly has an interesting flavor combination.

Blackberry Lavender Almond Cake from The Almond Eater // This Blackberry Lavender Almond Cake is made with almond extract and topped with blackberry lavender mascarpone whipped cream icing.

Fresh Strawberries and Cream Cake from Healthy Delicious // The first week that strawberries are really good might be the happiest that I am all year. In season strawberries can’t even compare to the pale, bitter berries that are available the rest of the year. Just follow your nose – if they’re ready, you’ll be able to smell them even before you see where they are in the store or at the market. Their scent is so intoxicating that it makes me giddy, and I buy them by the basket full. I just can’t help myself!

Strawberry Rhubarb Raw Cheesecake from Britt’s Blurbs // This Strawberry Rhubarb Raw Cheesecake is a clean and healthy dessert that satisfies your sweet tooth and is packed with nutritional ingredients.

Berry Frozen Yogurt Pie from Peanut Butter Fingers // A creamy and oh so festive dessert, this berry frozen yogurt pie is the perfect dish to bring to a Fourth of July cookout (tomorrow!) or your next summertime barbecue when everyone is craving something cold and sweet on a hot summer night
