15 #DonutRecipes You Donut Want to Miss from the #BlogHealthy Community

RecWednesdaysBadge2Welcome back to Recipe Wednesday; another avenue to promote your very best content, this time in the form of your most favorite recipes on your blog. Each Wednesday when you visit HLB you’ll find the theme for the newest recipe round up.

Some weeks our themes read like cookbook chapters, spotlight ingredients or flavors, or simply request the best recipe for a certain situation. Find an appropriate recipe from your blog archives to fit the theme and add to the link up. Or be inspired to create a new theme-friendly dish worth posting about before next Wednesday.

Each week we feature a handful of our favorite recipes from our HLB Members [learn how to become a Member here: HLB Membership How-To,] giving even more exposure to some of the best you’ve shared from your own kitchen. Let’s get to it, shall we?

Today we are on the hunt for the most delectible donuts in all the land! It doesn’t matter to us if you spell it donuts or doughnuts – we’ll take one either way! 😆 Here are some of our favorite donut recipes from around the HLB community to test out in your kitchen this weekend or sooner!

Red Velvet Donuts from Prevention RD // Bright in color and rich in flavor, topped with a cream cheese icing to knock you out of your seat!

Baked Vegan Cake Donuts from The Glowing Fridge // “I’m not usually a cake or cupcake person, but these donuts remind me of vanilla cake – in a good way.”  This post also includes a list of natural food coloring ideas to get a rainbow of frosting tints!

Moist Vanilla Protein Donuts from Amee’s Savory Dish // “These donuts are delicious and we love them, but they are different than a regular fried donut.  These are a more cake-like texture and not as sickening sweet.  I don’t feel well when I eat one of those original sugar bombs, but I feel amazing after eating these.  I’m all about tasty and nutritious substitutes for decadent treats.  One of these donuts is only 144 calories, 13 grams of protein, 10 grams of carbs and 5 grams of fat!  How about them macros?!!”

Baked Pumpkin Donuts with Cream Cheese Icing from Gettin’ My Healthy On // “Get into the fall spirit with these pumpkin donuts that are baked (not fried!) and have the finishing touch of a sweet cream cheese icing.”

Cinnamon CoffeeCake Donuts from ShugarySweets // “Tender, moist Cinnamon Coffee Cake Donuts with a chunky cinnamon streusel and sweet cinnamon glaze. Baked, not fried, and perfect for a delicious Saturday morning breakfast!”

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Donuts from Ingredients of a Fit Chick // “Simple to make, versatile and a great snack to grab on the go!  These healthy treats are protein packed and sure to satisfy your sweet craving!”

Lemon Coconut Baked Donuts from Dietitian Debbie Dishes // “Each donut is topped with a lemon glaze and a sprinkle of toasted coconut. I’ve found that these taste the best the day they are made! Although, if you do want to make them ahead of time, I would suggest baking the donuts but adding the glaze just before you are ready to serve.”

Baked Apple Cider Donuts from Julie Harrington RD // “Subtly swapping a few ingredients and reducing the amount of sugar can help make these donuts lighter without sacrificing flavor.  There is nothing better than enjoying a warm apple cider donut on a cool crisp day. It just screams fall!”

Triple Vanilla Donuts with Maple Vanilla Glaze from Lemons and Zest // “This baked donut recipe is going to WOW the entire family! Vanilla yogurt, vanilla almond milk and vanilla extract make this easy donut recipe very very VERY vanilla!”

Healthy Protein Donuts from Food Faith Fitness // “This gluten free Healthy Protein Donuts Recipe is soft, fluffy and secretly protein packed! A perfect treat to curb your sweet tooth, and a dairy-free option is included!”

Lemon Pistachio Donuts from Edible Perspective // “A pillowy soft donut filled with pistachio meal and lemon zest that’s then dredged in a lemony glaze and covered in a thick blanket of ground pistachios.”

Healthy Peanut Butter Glazed Blueberry Mini Donuts from Hungry Hobby // “Wild Blueberry Mini Donuts are a sweet treat bursting with fresh blueberry flavored and covered with a sweet peanut butter glaze.  Made from almond flour they are a healthier better for you treat to indulge in!”

No Bake Blueberry Muffin Donut Holes from Eating Bird Food // “This recipe for No Bake Blueberry Muffin Donut Holes turns your favorite energy ball into a healthy donut hole with a coconut maple glaze. Vegan, gluten-free and absolutely delicious.”

Chocolate Chip Zucchini Donuts from The Balanced Berry // “These chocolate chip zucchini donuts are a nutrition-packed twist on your favorite breakfast treat!”

Salted Dark Chocolate Fudge Donuts from How Sweet Eats // “…basically, I should call these BROWNIE DONUTS. They are delicate but fudgy. When I say that, I mean that you must let them cool completely before dipping them. They are so light and fudgy that the chocolate icing can weigh them down and cause them to crumble, so process with gentleness!  The donut itself is fabulous and with the icing? So rich. Then we add salt and I just die.”
