: CDC Flu Blog-A-Thon –  
Today CDC kicks off a Blog-A-Thon on Public Health Matters and includes partner blogs from What to Expect When You’re Expecting, Families Fighting Flu, and Shot of Prevention.  The “Vaccinate Your Family” Blog-A-Thon is open to all, and CDC will hook up you with a badge and help promote your post if you decide to participate.

December 6, 1:00 pm ET: Reddit Science Ask Me Anything with CDC Advance Molecular Detection (AMD) Expert – On Tuesday, December 6, the Reddit Science Ask Me Anything (AMA) will feature CDC AMD expert John Barnes, PhD.  Dr. Barnes will answer Reddit community questions about CDC’s seasonal influenza AMD technology.  Join the conversation on December 6, 2016 from 1:00-3:00 pm ET on Reddit here.

image006December 7, 11:00 am ET: @CDCFlu Twitter Flu in a Film Hashtag Challenge – Choose a movie, replace one of the words in the movie title with the word “flu,” and tweet your movie title with the challenge hashtag. Also, include a message about the importance of flu vaccination in your tweet or as a follow up tweet.

  • Example: Close Encounters of the Flu Kind. Avoid your own close encounter with flu this season. Get a flu vaccine! (insert movie hashtag)*

*@CDCFlu will reveal the movie hashtag on December 7 at 11 am ET
