In our weekly Friday Feature, we share a 5-question interview with one of the fantastic members of HealthyLivingBlogs.com. Take the time to get to know your co-members, pick up tips and tricks, blogging know-how, and recommendations from your fellow bloggers. If you’re an HLB member and haven’t gotten your interview email yet, don’t worry, you will in time! We’re working our way through a list of 2,000+ members’ blogs at random.
1. What’s your name, blog name, and how did you create your blog title?
Hi! I’m Sagan, and my blog is SaganMorrow.com.
Formerly, SaganMorrow.com was called Living Healthy in the Real World, because it focused primarily on healthy living tips and my own adventures in trying to live a healthier lifestyle in a realistic way that others could, too. I rebranded to SaganMorrow.com when I transitioned from health blogging to lifestyle blogging — the new name has given me an opportunity to broaden my scope, which is perfect for me at this point in time.
2. What can a new visitor expect to find from your blog?
New visitors can expect to find stories, ideas, and tips on life, work, and everything in between when they come to my blog!
SaganMorrow.com is a lifestyle blog updated every Monday to Thursday on topics of food + fitness, style + beauty, writing + business, and feminism + social issues. Since I work from home full-time (as a freelance coach and a professional blogger), I really enjoy being able to share with my readers what it’s like to work from home and how they can take and apply the lessons I’ve learned to their own lives.
3. What is one lesson you’ve learned about blogging since you first started your website?
Just one? 🙂 I started blogging in 2008, so I’ve been in the blogging community for a really long time. I have learned A LOT over the years, and I know there is still so much more for me to learn!
Perhaps one of the most valuable lessons has been that blogging needs to come from a place of joy and passion, both in the process of blogging AND in the topic you blog about. Blogging is hard work! But whether we are hobby bloggers or professional bloggers, if we don’t enjoy it, that will cause some serious issues. Because really, what’s the point of doing it if it’s not something that makes our hearts happy?
4. What is your favorite site to visit to find motivation in your healthy living journey? What do you find from this website?
Carla’s blog (CarlaBirnberg.com) was one of the very first blogs I ever read (and she was the first person who ever commented on my blog!). I still find her blog motivating and inspiring, especially in the sense that it reminds me to be kind to myself throughout my healthy living journey.
5. What is one internet trend you are ready see end for the rest of time?
The “follow/unfollow” method being used on social media by so many bloggers. I just follow the people I like and who I resonate with. The numbers game is exhausting, and it doesn’t get anyone anywhere! It’s so much better when we can build strong communities and meaningful relationships with one another.
