Editor’s Note: This post is part of the current series of posts submitted by healthy living bloggers on what health means to them. We are no longer taking submissions on this topic and will soon open the floor to a new topic.
This post is brought to you by Nancy from spiffykerms.
I have been blogging for ages, however I am relatively new to the food blogging and fitness talk. After finding a few new reads, and getting motivated by these wonderful ladies, I have slowly incorporated some healthy living posts into my random website, that has an intense variety of topics, not just one.
Being healthy to me, means – doing what you love and eating what you love in moderation.I find that if you eat what you love in moderation (ie: 10-20% of the time, for me) than you will be a-okay. (I loooove me some popcorn, candy, and diet coke!) Don’t like working out at a gym? Simple answer: don’t! I have a love/hate relationship with the gym, and currently I’m disliking it since it’s summer and I want to be outdoors in the beautiful sunshine having a great workout by running. I am unofficially training for my first half marathon, but I’m only up to 7k as my longest run right now. Running isn’t for everyone – and it doesn’t have to be. Pick a hobby, or something that keeps you active, and if you enjoy it, it won’t feel like you’re doing it because you “have” to. Do it because you want to!
I wish there were more climbing gyms in the area that I live, because that was my passion for the last 15 years of my life, until I moved to a new province, and there’s…BAM. None.
So I took up running, and now I have made a few really terrific friends because of it!
Take care all!!
