What is something about you that would shock us? I don’t like bacon or peanut butter – and it isn’t because I am allergic or vegetarian. I just don’t like either.

What is your tagline and why? My tagline is “overcoming the pickiness…one bite at a time” because my blog is all about overcoming my pickiness by trying new things – food and otherwise.

What is your healthy eating philosophy? 

When I realized that I didn’t need to be apart of the clean plate club, it started to fall into place. I try to remind myself that I will (more than likely) be able to have that food again, so there is no “need”/food guilt to eat it all.

I also think about the amount of fruits and vegetables I have throughout the day and keep those around the house as much as possible. Having pizza for dinner? A salad happens as well.

Twitter is typically where I find blog posts that I want to read – Twitter friends share great content that they’ve found and also their own posts, so it’s a great mix.

What daily health to-do is easiest for you to complete? Which is the one you struggle with every single day?  The easiest is sleep!  I love my sleep!  The biggest struggle is probably getting enough fruits and vegetables in my daily diet.  When I have my kitchen stocked up, I’m fine.  But when things start to run out or I just get lazy, it’s easier for me to turn to other options.

What is one lesson you’ve learned about blogging since you first started your website? Be authentic!! When I started blogging, I was inspired by the blogs I loved and tried to do what they do. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right? While that may be true, it wasn’t the blog I wanted or needed to write. Once I started writing from my heart, using my voice, and writing the blog that was right for me, I fell in love with it so much more. At the end of the day, I write my blog for me – so if I’m not being true to myself, it really defeats the purpose.

What is your healthy eating philosophy? Eat as much local, fresh produce as possible.  Cook from scratch whenever possible.  Eat foods you enjoy all the time.

If you could live any place for the rest of your life, where would it be and why? The coast of Maine;  I lived there during high school and after college and it really is “the way life should be”.

What can a new visitor expect to find from your blog?  A new visitor can expect to find fun and easy recipes, book reviews, pictures of my dog and other fun adventures. I love my tagline “slices of my life” because that is exactly what a blog is. Bits and pieces that work as a wonderful timeline. It is always so fun to go back and read old blog posts!

What is something you’ve learned recently that you found interesting? Children today will spend an estimated 25% of their entire life in front of a screen. That is terrifying to me! Read a book! Go outside!
