In our weekly Friday Feature, we share a 5-question interview with one of the fantastic members of HealthyLivingBlogs.com. Take the time to get to know your co-members, pick up tips and tricks, blogging know-how, and recommendations from your fellow bloggers. If you’re an HLB member and haven’t gotten your interview email yet, don’t worry, you will in time! We’re working our way through a list of 2,000+ members’ blogs at random.
What’s your name, blog name, and how did you create your blog title?
My name is Jacqui, and I blog at Just me and my frugal kitchen. When I started my blog it was all about cooking and making great meals with a mind to staying on a budget.
What can a new visitor expect to find from your blog?
Over the last few years my blog has changed as my life has. I still like to post recipes and budget friendly shopping finds, but now there is more that involves my kids. I like to try to find fun foods, crafts, projects, and things that are good for me and my girls. I think it is fun to have them included in my creative projects.
What is your favorite way to get moving, burn calories and energy, and get your exercise-on?
Currently I love to go jump on the trampoline with the kids. It is fun and a great activity we can do together, plus it works your muscles in a ton of ways.
What is one lesson you’ve learned about blogging since you first started your website?
I have learned that when I show more of my “real” self I get a lot more interactions on my blog. People like to see when things do not go right and how everyone struggles at times. Those are the things that make us all connect.
If you could live any place for the rest of your life, where would it be and why?
I would live by the beach. For me there is something so calming about the smell of salt water and the sound of waves hitting the beach.
Tell us about your favorite SOMETHING.
I love Aveeno products. When my daughter was little she had severe eczema, I mean bleeding skin all the time eczema. I contacted several companies to get samples to try and help her out. Aveeno sent me a ton of things to try and then coupons for what worked for us. I have started using them for myself now and can not say enough about the great products they provide.
