1. What’s your name, blog name, and how did you create your blog title?
Angela Shurina Create Yourself Today
I believe that in life every day we create ourselves, our life, in one way or the other. My blog is dedicated to the betterment of self, to creating a better self daily through better, healthier choices – food, movement, healthy habits, mindfulness practices, building the mind and the body, that help us to create the best life experiences.
That’s my own daily quest and mission in life – to create a better self every daily and to help as many people as I possible with my knowledge and experience to do the same.
2. What can a new visitor expect to find from your blog?
Practical advice and tips on healthy living, healthy food and healthy eating, movement and nutrition, longevity, mindset, biohacking, wearable tech and cutting edge workouts, healthy living in a city.
I read, research and experiment a lot myself and with people I work with – the mission of my blog is to put all this vast knowledge into daily practical actions, that people can easily do every day to improve their health, fitness, energy levels, to live longer and feel better.
3. What is one lesson you’ve learned about blogging since you first started your website?
Add more humanity and personal experience into my blogs – more of what other people can connect with, can relate to on a personal level.
Generic advice that I personally haven’t experienced will not help many people, it won’t resonate with others and won’t make an impact I seek to make. Being more human adding value to better help others through my work.
4. Do you ever experience days when you don’t want to make healthy choices? How do you motivate yourself when you really need it?
I have moments of weakness, mostly when it’s some kind of a social gathering, a party, dinner with friends, or something really stressful happens – we all have those moments when our motivation weakens.
But what I’ve learned is that we do not need to work on our motivation or willpower – those are very limited resources that will betray us at the first opportunity!
We need to work on our routines and planning skills instead!
Planning meals in advance, having healthy snacks with you when hunger or stress strikes, deciding in advance what we will eat at a party or at a restaurant – then our mind will just follow the routine because the decision has already been made.
5. Let’s talk traveling: what is your favorite place to visit in your favorite city or town for vacationing?
My favorite places are beach destinations.
I just love the Sun, water, fresh air, blue skies – nothing puts me in a better mood.
I spent 6 years of my life traveling, living in different countries where there is no winter, SE Asia, Middle East, South America. I love the Sun!
My favorite city? Definitely NYC! That’s why I’m here!
Just waking up in this city makes me want to jump out of the bed getting after it every single day! I love the hustle! And all the people coming here to make their dreams come true!
