In our weekly Friday Feature, we share a 5-question interview with one of the fantastic members of HealthyLivingBlogs.com. Take the time to get to know your co-members, pick up tips and tricks, blogging know-how, and recommendations from your fellow bloggers. If you’re an HLB member and haven’t gotten your interview email yet, don’t worry, you will in time! We’re working our way through a list of 2,000+ members’ blogs at random.
1. What’s your name, blog name, and how did you create your blog title?
Sarah Dussault from Sarah Fit. Ten years ago, the blog space was much different. There were no other First Name Fit people and I thought I was unique. I obviously was not very creative and now there is a *first name* fit everywhere. I chose it because it was easy to remember and short!
2. What can a new visitor expect to find from your blog?
My blog is all about work life family balance with a focus on health and fitness. I share a lot of YouTube videos from my YouTube channel as well as my own experiences being a work from home mom to a toddler. I’m currently pregnant and will be sharing more prenatal content as a result.
3. What is one lesson you’ve learned about blogging since you first started your website?
Don’t put all your eggs in one basket. You can’t focus on just one platform. You have to be good and thrive using at least 2 or 3 to make it work. I originally gained momentum because I was one of the few HLB’s with a YouTube channel.
4. Do you ever experience days when you don’t want to make healthy choices? How do you motivate yourself when you really need it?
All the time! I indulge 🙂 I find when I restrict, I then will binge. Since I stopped restricting my unhealthy cravings, I no longer binge and feel guilty. Losing the guilt I think has helped me eat better 90% of the time so when I don’t eat perfect, I’m totally Ok with that.
5. What do you want us all to know?
Find something that you love when it comes to fitness. If you don’t love it, you will never do it on a regular basis or make it part of your life. I love to workout and am always changing what my workouts are because it keeps things interesting. Zumba, swimming, running, whatever – find what you like and it WILL work.
