15 Recipes to Enjoy for National Almond Day [February 16] #EatMoreAlmonds

RecWednesdaysBadge2Welcome back to Recipe Wednesday; another avenue to promote your very best content, this time in the form of your most favorite recipes on your blog. Each Wednesday when you visit HLB you’ll find the theme for the newest recipe round up.

Some weeks our themes read like cookbook chapters, spotlight ingredients or flavors, or simply request the best recipe for a certain situation. Find an appropriate recipe from your blog archives to fit the theme and add to the link up. Or be inspired to create a new theme-friendly dish worth posting about before next Wednesday.

Each week we feature a handful of our favorite recipes from our HLB Members [learn how to become a Member here: HLB Membership How-To,] giving even more exposure to some of the best you’ve shared from your own kitchen. Let’s get to it, shall we?

Today’s topic is recipes featuring ALMONDS in celebration of National Almond Day this Friday, February 16! Here are some of our favorite recipes from around the HLB community to add to your meal plan to celebrate yourself:

Poke Bowls with Seasame-Soy Almonds from Iowa Girl Eats // Add a taste of Hawaii to your meal plan with these deconstructed sushi bowls which are easy to assemble and fun to enjoy!

Coconut and Lime Roasted Almonds from The Honour System // Roasted almonds are an easy recipe we turn to time and time again for our snacking needs, especially when making travel snacks or food gifts!  We love this flavor combo, perfect for tropical day dreaming.

Warm Cinnamon Horchata from Healthy Slow Cooking // This Vegan version of a Horchata, a milky drink made from ground nuts or rice, features whole grains and almonds and is perfect for a cold winter’s night.

Asian Chicken Salad with Toasted Almonds from The Lemon Bowl // “This Asian spin on a classic chicken salad is full of fragrant scallions, toasted sesame oil and crunchy roasted almonds. A naturally gluten free, low carb and paleo lunch recipe!”

Balsamic Roasted Almonds from RDelicious Kitchen // The balsamic flavor topping these nuts is known to be addicting. You’ll want to snack on them by themselves, but try adding them to salads or chopping to top simple pasta dishes [olive oil and cheese, anyone?]

Raspberry Almond Dark Chocolate Bark from Dietitian Debbie Dishes // If you are looking for a last minute Valentine’s Day gift for the sweet tooth in your life, this is the answer. SUPER simple and full of delicious ingredients, this recipe comes together just in time for those of us who are a bit behind the eight ball this week.

No-Bake Almond Chocolate Chunk Granola Bars from Eat Spin Run Repeat // There is something truly special about a no-bake treat; sometimes you just need an EASY answer to snack time without sacraficing deliciousness – and these bars deliever!

Sweet and Spicy Almonds [or Mixed Nuts!] from The Lean Green Bean // Most candied nut recipes are packed with sugar, but this recipe cuts back on the sugar, dressing them in just enough to sweeten as a perfect compliment to a little spicy bite.

Savory Oatmeal with Poached Eggs and Roasted Almonds from Healthy Nibbles and Bits // We are declaring it: more savory oats, and other breakfast grains!, in 2018!  This recipe is a great one to start with, ready in 30 minutes featuring terrificly runny poached eggs partnerd with the powers of roasted almonds.

Seasoned Brown Rice with Dried Cherries, Almonds, Brie and Sage from Heather’s Dish // Did that list of ingredients set in? Sweetly Tart Cherries + Bold Nutty Almonds + Soft Creamy Brie + Rich Aromatic Sage make one fancy side dish…or a GREAT salad served with greens.

Almond Joy Chia Pudding from Dianne’s Vegan Kitchen // Turn the flavors of a favorite candy bar into a Chia Pudding healthy enough for breakfast, but richly delicious enough to be a dessert!

Sweet and Spicy Roasted Almonds from PB Fingers // “The end result was a sweet and slightly spicy batch of roasted almonds that we could not stop eating. Be warned: These little babies are quite addicting!”

Roasted Almonds with Cocoa from Food Pleasures and Health // Could these chocolate almond cups be any cuter? This recipe is an easy equation: 3 ingredients + 1 sheet pan x 15 minutes = an excellent sweet snack

Easy Stovetop Sugar Free Candied Almonds from The Big Man’s World // “It’s a simple three ingredient recipe (if you stick to the base ingredients!) and literally take minutes to whip up! They also make your kitchen smell incredible, and the hard part is waiting for them to cool and break apart!”
