In our weekly Friday Feature, we share a 5-question interview with one of the fantastic members of HealthyLivingBlogs.com. Take the time to get to know your co-members, pick up tips and tricks, blogging know-how, and recommendations from your fellow bloggers. If you’re an HLB member and haven’t gotten your interview email yet, don’t worry, you will in time! We’re working our way through a list of 2,000+ members’ blogs at random.
1. What’s your name, blog name, and how did you create your blog title?
Lisa Gulley from Workout Mommy. I created my title when my sons were little and I need to motivate myself to workout.
2. What can a new visitor expect to find from your blog?
Workout ideas, fitness tips from me and other moms, how to stay in shape with young kids at home.
3. Do you ever experience days when you don’t want to make healthy choices? How do you motivate yourself when you really need it?
Every single day! I allow myself some kind of “bad choice” each day. I’m not perfect and while I would love to have a 6 pack, I am just not that dedicated! I like pizza, beer, and chocolate too much to give it up forever so I work that into my life and just enjoy it. Life is too short to stress about everything you eat. I get motivated by focusing on how I will feel AFTER the workout or healthy meal. Workouts do wonders for my anxiety and stress, so they are a must. If I am feeling down, a quick walk helps tremendously. As for food, I know I will feel gross after eating junk food all the time, so I remind myself how much better I will feel after I eat the healthy choice.
4. What is one lesson you’ve learned about blogging since you first started your website?
That it can be all consuming! At some point, you need to step away from social media and actually live the life you are blogging about.
5. Tell us about your favorite SOMETHING.
I love to listen to Podcasts when I am cleaning my house and one of my favorites is The Joy Junkie Show. Amy is a life coach and I just love to listen to her voice of reason. I highly recommend it!
