1. What’s your name, blog name, and how did you create your blog title?
My name is Chloe Shelby, soon to be Chloe Cumbie! I blog at A Latte Lipstick. I created my blog name by combining two of my favorite things – lipsticks and lattes – and why not have a “latte” of both? Get it? 😉 While a large focus of my blog is on fitness and living a healthy lifestyle, I didn’t want the title to be too limiting in terms of what I could write about on my blog because I do love to tell my readers about a good chunky heel or glam dress every so often.
2. What is one lesson you’ve learned about blogging since you first started your website?
If you’re interested in starting a blog, you need to first realize it’s not going to see instant success and it takes a lot of work! With that said, it’s a lot of FUN WORK! You must be dedicated and listen to your audience to provide them the content that inspires them the most! I’m always super happy to hear from my readers about workouts or questions that they have and help answer them! If you have one – comment on my blog and request a topic or tweet me @chloeshelby.
3. If you could live any place for the rest of your life, where would it be and why?
I’d have to say Oklahoma. It is a state that offers so many beautiful places, but most importantly, it’s the people. I believe that Oklahoma has some of the most friendly people and no matter where I go in Oklahoma, I always feel welcomed and at home. If you haven’t come – I’d definitely recommend a trip. Holler at me if you do – I am an expert at brunching and would love to meet you 🙂
4. Let’s talk traveling: what is your favorite place to visit in your favorite city or town for vacationing?
I just adore Colorado!! It’s a reasonable distance to travel from Oklahoma and offers the most beautiful scenery – it’s basically an outdoor gym. I love to go hike trails and then relax at a spa!
5. What is your favorite way to get moving, burn calories and energy, and get your exercise-on?
I am a group fitness instructor and absolutely love the group class format! Working with others can be inspiring and also keeps you accountable when you go on a regular basis and people start to notice if you aren’t there a couple weeks in a row. I enjoy doing Les Mills classes – some you may recognize that are available at many gyms are Body Pump, Body Combat, Grit, Body Flow, and more. If you made me choose one, I’d say lifting weights in Body Pump! I love to feel strong and fierce and weights get me there every time!!
