1. What’s your name, blog name, and how did you create your blog title?
Holly Hammersmith’s Blog – A blog about keeping a healthy home & lifestyle.
2. How would you describe your blogging style?
Professional. Some of my blog posts are laid back “how’s it going” type posts but for the most part I strive to provide a benefit or information to my readers. I use my blog as another outlet to exercise my journalism skills and enjoy providing research-based posts on a regular basis. I am a writer and editor by profession. Blogging keeps me fresh whenever work is slow.
3. What is your tagline and why?
A blog about keeping a healthy home & lifestyle. I underwent a blog rebrand at the end of 2013. My prior blog had a running name and tagline. I changed it because my interests had changed. I still run but I wanted to feel comfortable blogging about other topics such as frugal living, gardening and my dog Lulu. By blogging under my name, and a broad tagline, I now feel comfortable blogging about nearly anything I want to. And I should feel comfortable, right? My blog is my space.
4. What is your healthy eating philosophy?
I try to follow the 80/20 rule where I’m eating clean 80 percent of the time and treat myself 20 percent of the time. I also try to be mindful of my intake of various types of food in any given day. Did I eat vegetables today? Did I fuel with carbohydrates before my workout? Did I replenish my muscles with protein and water after my workout? When I enjoy the 20 percent it’s usually macaroni and cheese, coffee, wine and the occasional dessert.
5. Spread some blog love – which Healthy Living Blog do you read every single post from?
Back to Her Roots. I’ve never met Cassie but we have a lot in common from enjoying home canning, to gardening, cloth diapering and living in the Midwest. She is in Indiana and I’m in Ohio.
