Here’s what some of our HLB Team Members had to say about the Sunburn Alert UV Stickers they tried:

danielleIGAs a busy mom with three little girls I always remember to start the day with sunscreen, but I often forget to reapply. We tested the stickers during a day at the lake with family and I was surprised how quickly the time past and the stickers had turned white. Such a great reminder to take a break from the sun and get more sunscreen. As a bonus, my girls thought the stickers were the best! – Danielle // News from Alameda Street, HLB Ambassador

I found Sunburn Alert to be really helpful in reminding me when it was time to reapply my sunscreen. Since it’s a sticker that you wear, there’s no hassling with cell phone alarms as a reminder or the excuse of simply losing track of time and ending up sunburnt. I wore mine on a very sweaty run in 90+ degree weather and it stayed in place without budging the whole time! I was very impressed that it was still hanging on strong by the end of my run! – Tricia // A Couple of Dashes, HLB Ambassador

After the winter we (barely) survived in Boston this year, I am spending as much time as possible outside this summer. I love having a visual reminder to reapply sunblock (or get out of the sun). I’ve worn my Sunburn Alert stickers to the beach and outdoor bootcamp and found they stayed put even after hours of swimming or running. The stickers themselves are a bit big, but I suppose this makes them a great conversation starter …Who wants to talk about sun safety? – Elizabeth // On Tap for Today, HLB Ambassador

As someone with fair skin I burn pretty easily and sometimes it’s hard to know when to apply more sunscreen-before it’s too late! I loved using the Sunburn Alert stickers during my long weekend run. I usually apply just a little sunscreen on my arms but wasn’t sure if if that was effective for 2+ hours outside. Applying & activating the sticker was super easy with the simple directions. I loved the visual alert that my sun protection was wearing off and then seeing as the sticker lightened that it was probably time to reapply. Besides activities outside, these would be great for adults & kids alike at the beach where the sun is strong and it’s easy to slip up on reapplying. – Lauren // Breathe Deeply and Smile, HLB Ambassador

These seem like such a great idea, especially to remind kids to reapply sunscreen while they are busy playing. The process was a bit more intensive than I expected though, and they didn’t work very well for me. I’m guessing either I didn’t activate them correctly, or maybe they just don’t work well unless you are in direct sunlight? (I was outside for a long period of time, but not in bright, direct sunlight, and mine never really changed color) -Kelly // Brownies & Zucchini, HLB Staffer

katieIG300The sticker application was a bit more complicated than seemed necessary at first but once I got it on and went outside, it activated to the bright blue color. I only spent a few minutes outside walking to and from my car before it started to lighten up. I also feel like it should start at a neutral color and turn bright blue once you’ve spent enough time in the sun/need to re-apply sunscreen so it catches your attention vs working in the opposite fashion. With that said, I do see how this could be very beneficial for people who often forget to reapply or don’t realize they’ve been in the sun as long as they have. – Katie // Talk Less, Say More, HLB Ambassador

I tested the stickers out with my 4 year old nephew at a park with a splash pad. He played in the water and on a playground for an hour and the sticker stayed put. He was totally fascinated by the sticker and it’s gradual color change and interested in wearing sunscreen as a result. I’d definitely get these if I planned to be outdoors for a long period of time, like a day at the beach. – Emily // Relishments, HLB Staffer

For someone like me who forgets sunscreen, these are a perfect reminder. The color of the sticker can remind you to reapply sunscreen or even get out of the sun. Even on partly cloudy days you never know how much UV rays you are getting. These would be perfect for days at the water parks or the beach. – Glenneth // Your Path to Fit, HLB Ambassador

I have really been enjoying using Sunburn Alert UV Stickers, they are really so easy. No guessing, no forgetting, waterproof, and disposable these stickers are perfect for busy afternoons working outside or a day on the beach. I have been using them regularly. My good friend loves using them on her 6 month old, no worries for baby sunburns! – Alicia // The Wannabe Foodie, HLB Staffer
