1. What’s your name, blog name, and how did you create your blog title?

My name is Dianne Wenz and my blog can be found on Veggiegirl.com. I choose the name about 12 years ago, just because I thought it was cute. I was surprised it was available! Over the years I’ve occasionally thought that I should change my website name to something more professional, but every name I’ve come up with has been taken. Veggiegirl has gained a bit of a following, so it wouldn’t make any sense to change it now anyway.

2. What is your tagline and why?

My friend Deana came up with my tag line, which is “Eat plants. Love animals. Be healthy.” It really encompasses my philosophy. I went vegan for ethical reasons, but my health improved when I made the dietary change, so I like to share my story and its message.

3. What are some of your favorite blogging tools?

I use WordPress for my own blog, and I’m pretty happy with it. I think the Akismet widget is essential for keeping spam at bay.

4. What is something you’ve learned recently that you found interesting?

I just finished reading Kathy Stevens’s book Animal Camp, and I find her stories about the lives and emotions of the rescued animals that live Catskill Animal Sanctuary to be extremely interesting. I already knew that animals have complex emotional lives, but Kathy’s stories illustrate the subject in a way that I no one else does.

5. What’s one goal you’re working towards right now?

I’m a vegan health and lifestyle coach, and I’m always looking to expand my business. Right now I’m putting together a schedule of cooking classes and demos for the fall.
