Fit Life Forward

1. What’s your name, blog name, and how did you create your blog title?

HI! I’m Kayla from Fit Life Forward. I was inspired for the name of my blog by one of my favorite kids movies – Meet the Robinsons. Its about a boy inventor who uses the motto Keep Moving Forward to always continue and never give up. So I’ve adopted the motto myself to keep moving forward in health, happiness and life – in essence to have a fit life that is perpetually moving forward!

2. What is one lesson you’ve learned about blogging since you first started your website?

One thing that I learned about blogging soon was how much time it actually takes! I didn’t think that it would.. but the time spent on my blog is fun “me time” where I get to express myself and really think about some things. Well, not think too hard… I found the power in saving some pre-written blog posts for a busy week ahead to post when I didn’t have the time to write.

3. What is your favorite site to visit to find motivation in your healthy living journey? What do you find from this website?

I LOVE to find other running sites. I am constantly trying to challenge myself with my running and increasing my mileage so whenever I can find a site that gives me lots and lots of miles to read about – I’m there! It is so inspiring to know that other people are doing what I want to – when I am running long distances I can bring myself back to the power of knowing that it can be done!

4. Do you ever experience days when you don’t want to make healthy choices? How do you motivate yourself when you really need it?

Always – everyone does! The thing that motivates me the most is to think about my long term goals… even though I may not feel up to running after a hard day of work I need to do it because I don’t want to look back from race day with regrets. The hardest part is getting myself into the mind frame so that I will think about that… sometimes I’ve eaten that brownie before I was able to think about it!

5. Let’s talk traveling: what is your favorite place to visit in your favorite city or town for vacationing?

I have been quite a few places but I think that the one place that I will really want to go back to and keep going back to is DC. There is such a sense of something greater than just one person when you are there among all of the history of our nation. I loved it. I loved going on runs around the monuments! I’m going back this month for the second time to run the Marine Corps Marathon.

    Nice to meet you Kayla. I have to agree about how much time it takes. Blogging has pretty much become a hobby for me. Sounds like you love it just like me. :)

    I can completely relate to how your mindset on blogging changed! Mine did as well. I didn’t think it would take so much time and effort–but it surely does! You are totally right that it has to be enjoyable though; if it’s not worthwhile “me” time, what’s the point?!

    I always believe that healthy choices or options should come within you. No matter how you would like to live a healthy life but you are not 100% ready to make it happen it won’t still prosper the way you want it to be. Great to found this blog it’s very refreshing!
