1. What’s your name, blog name, and how did you create your blog title?
I’m Marielle from Fit Girl in a Pretty World. Well I knew I wanted to write a blog centered around fitness, but wanted something more than just “fit girl or fitness girl.” Like most girls, I also love pretty clothes, shoes, and fashion….So after lots of brainstorming (and help from a friend of mine), I found a name that fit!
2. What is your favorite site to visit to find motivation in your healthy living journey? What do you find from this website?
Fit Sugar for sure!! I love that there is such a variety of topics from: healthy dessert recipes, running stretches, at-home workouts, or a review of the latest fitness trend. I read it every morning actually
3. Do you ever experience days when you don’t want to make healthy choices? How do you motivate yourself when you really need it?
Of course! It’s definetly hard to motivate myself to exercise or eat healthy after a long tiring work day. One thing I do if I’m not really wanting to exercise is I’ll leave my running shoes or yoga mat right in front of the tv, so when I’m sitting on the couch I see them and am reminded of what I should do! Planning my meals out for the week ahead of time always helps me make smarter choices when I’m rushing around during the week. (This is still a work in progress for me) I also think everyone deserves a guilt-free lazy night with pizza and wine every once in awhile….
4. What is your favorite way to get moving, burn calories and energy, and get your exercise-on?
Running! I love to be outside and to be alone with my music. I work with people everyday, so I value my alone time Sometimes I’ll run sprints, jog 30 minutes or 60, and I always feel better afterwards!
5. If you could live any place for the rest of your life, where would it be and why?
Hmm that’s a good question! I recently moved to Los Angeles and I love being so close to the beach…that’s definitely my happy place! Ideally I’d like a place that is a little quieter so Santa Barbara would be my top choice. It has the beach and wine country…don’t think it can get any better than that!
