My Healthy Living Summit Bucket List (Part 2)

abAlicia, The Wannabe Foodie is back to share the second part of her Healthy Living Summit bucket list.  Alicia’s got an awesome Mini-Mingle group activity planned for those of you who will be in town on Thursday evening.   Check out the details and the rest of her bucket list below.

see part 1 of Alicia’s Summit Bucket List here.

7. Host and EPIC froyo mini mingle on Thursday 8/16.

It is no secret that most bloggers love FROYO! On the Thursday night before the Healthy Living Summit I will be getting as many friends (new & old!) together to go on an epic frozen yogurt adventure. We will have the chance to get to know each other and talk about what is coming over the next couple days. If you are interested in getting together on this froyo adventure, sign up here!

8. Go to one panel/ workshop that I generally wouldn’t have picked

There are SO many different things going on at HLS this year. I am going to make a point of attending something that I wouldn’t generally choose. I am sure that I will learn a lot and be glad that I did!

9. Meet at least 2 new friends

After attending HLS last year, I feel like I have made connections that I will have forever. Not only did I meet great new people, but I have kept up with them over the past year by reading their blogs, following them on twitter and keeping in touch. I hope to find at least two more of those connections this year!

10. Take 15 minutes for myself everyday

I know that this year my schedule is going to be pretty packed. I am going to try to keep myself sane by spending some time by myself. About 15 minutes per day may be spent resting, reading or grabbing myself a cup of coffee. I am sure I will feel pretty good after that break.

11. Explore Cambridge!

I have heard some rumblings about some other mini mingles that are planned for the weekend of the Healthy Living Summit and am really excited! I feel like this year there are going to be so many opportunities to meet new people and really have a good time.

FYI – the JP Licks on Newbury St. is less than a mile from the HLS host hotel – and is better.

Hi, everyone! I signed up for the JP Licks Mini Mingle, but I have CrossFit from 7-8pm, so I’ll likely just meet you all there. You won’t mind my sweat, right?

My Healthy Living Summit Bucket List (Part 1)

ab4Alicia, The Wannabe Foodie and member of Team HLB is here to share her Summit Bucket List.  Be sure to check in on tomorrow’s post, too.  With Part 2 of her list, you’ll learn about an awesome Mini-Mingle group activity planned for those of you who will be in town on Thursday evening.

What I Plan to Do AT the Healthy Living Summit

clip_image001

1. Connect to the new people I meet right away.

I want to follow new friends on Twitter, show them some like-love on their blog’s Facebook pages, and start subscribing and following new blogs I learn about right away.

2. Comment on new blogs.

Commenting is a great way to build relationships with new blends and show them you appreciate the work they are putting into their sites.  [Pssst: Heather suggests this post: The Gift of Comments. ]

3. Post to MY blog.

Last year I didn’t do this until after the conference. While it was fun to just enjoy the experience, I am going to actively try to blog during the conference.

4. Collect and save business card info.

One of the best things I did for my first year at the Healthy Living Summit was have business cards made. I was able to get them cheaply through Vista Print.  Not only does handing out business cards make it easier to introduce yourself to new people, you always have all of your important information available to hand out to new friends, businesses and companies. You can order them easily online, OR you could do something super creative and make them yourself! [Psst: HLB suggests Moo Cards, too – we’ve been really impressed with the turn around time on our orders!]

5. Email a few new friends I meet.

The goal is to connect online with my new friends right away, to encourage that we stay in touch AFTER the Healthy Living Summit, too!

6. Start to build a relationship with a brand.

This is one thing I never even thought about trying to do last year. I know now that there will be great opportunities to talk with brand representatives, try new to me products and learn about the companies which work hard at being part of our healthy living blogs community.  There’s also an interesting panel on the agenda this year titled Blogging with Brands.

To be continued…

Very good tips! I just started blogging and won’t be making it this year, but next year it will be a priority.
