What Health Means to Me: It All Changes

Editor’s Note: this post is part of the current series of posts submitted by healthy living bloggers on what health means to them. We are no longer taking submissions on this topic and will soon open the floor to a new topic.

This post is brought to you by Cynthia at It All Changes.

I never really thought about what healthy looked when I was younger…I knew it wasn’t me, that’s it.  During my weight loss I confused healthy with skinny.  I longed to be skinny and did anything to get there.  After the long trip around now I’ve found my happy weight and have a firmer grasp on what healthy means to me.

Healthy is being comfortable in my own skin to do the desires of my heart.  Biking, running, hiking and playing at the park to enjoy life.  Healthy is maintaining a weight that is limits the medicines and treatments I need for chronic conditions.  Healthy is realizing although I want something if it makes me sick I shouldn’t and don’t need to eat it.  Healthy loves being me for and not for what others tell me to be.  I want to not only work at my job but love it despite the long hours; enjoy long walks with Hunni (my husband) and dogs; and sleep well at night.  Healthy allows me to do all these things.

No one can tell me what is healthy because healthy for me may drive you insane…but that’s okay.  Healthy is what makes you unique and distinctly you.  Find your inner healthy.

Great post! I agree with you 100%, what good is being super thin if you’re not healthy or happy? :)
